Colleagues around my age, a worthwhile job.

And currently, what appears to be a trustworthy boss; I believe this to be a “good environment”.

 

(I also like taking care of my younger sisters, it's one of the things I live for, but...)

 

But right now, I feel like I have become “independent”.

“Ah, so you were here, Nurse.”

“Color. Sorry, I just stepped out a second for a breath of fresh air.” 

“What song were you humming?”

“Wouldn’t call it a song. I just sang whatever that came to my head.”

“Heh, so it’s an original song?”

"I want to deny it because you make me sound like some haughty guy when you phrase it that way..."

“Haha! So, how’s it going? Got used to things?”

“I'm getting by okay…?”

“You're still a rookie, both as a cop and as a member of GOAT, so there must be a lot you don't understand, huh.”

“I’m desperately trying to grasp the situation right now.”

The interpersonal relationships I imagined having at work were much stricter, with tension rising constantly in the air.
However, there is a well-balanced atmosphere at GOAT,
with Color's charisma and charm making it a comfortable place.

“I’ll do my best.”

“Thank you very much. I will do my best to become independent as soon as possible.”

“If you work hard, you might get an amazing present on your birthday, you know? You should look forward to that.”

“I will look forward to it without getting my hopes up.”

 

I hadn't looked forward to a birthday in ages.

Even if I’m standing on my own feet, what can a fledgling like me even do?

I will continue to think about it. Expectations and insecurities.

In this moment, however, I had greater expectations.
